1. Undergraduate Certificate in Dental Assisting
The Indiana University School of Dentistry offers two ways to earn a certificate in dental assisting: a traditional on-campus program and a distance learning program. Both programs are accredited by : a traditional on-campus program and a distance learning program. Both programs are accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation. Dental assisting students are required to take three Dental Assisting National Board exams to become Certified Dental Assistant (CDA). The Campus Dental Assisting Program is a full-time, two-semester program that requires the completion of 30 credit hours. The curriculum consists of 14 required classes that include approximately 1,000 hours of lectures, labs, and clinical experiences. All instruction takes place at the School of Dentistry, located on the IUPUI campus in downtown Indianapolis. Students are required to complete at least 300 clinical hours in order to earn the certificate.

2. Master of Science in Dentistry – Orthodontics

The orthodontic program offers three basic areas of training: an extensive and comprehensive clinical experience that involves diagnosis, treatment planning, active treatment, and retention of patients representing a variety of malocclusions and craniofacial deformities, core courses that include biomedical sciences and clinical concepts, and orthodontic research. Students will need to complete 87 credits to graduate. Specific courses include facial development, biomechanics, clinical cephalometrics, oral biology, surgical orthodontics, orthodontic problems related to the cleft-palate patient, speech problems related to the oral mechanism, history of orthodontics, diagnosis and treatment planning, clinical diagnosis, orthodontic analysis and treatment modalities, introduction to clinical orthodontics, principles of orthodontic techniques, seminar on child and adolescent psychology, review for the ABO examination and thesis research.

3. MSc Paediatric Dentistry
The Master of Science in Paediatric Dentistry is for dental graduates wanting to pursue a career in paediatric dentistry in a primary or secondary care setting or in academia. The broad nature of the work requires a combination of medical, dental and communications skills. As part of the clinical training, you will be treating patients in consultant, trauma and sedation clinics. You?ll treat a wide range of medically compromised children, which may require you to liaise with paediatric specialists and anaesthetists prior to treatment under general anaesthesia. At the School of Dentistry, we have an international reputation for our specialist areas of postgraduate study. As a result, our Paediatric Dentistry postgraduate course attracts high-quality home and overseas applicants, including large numbers of non-publicly funded overseas students. Please note: Overseas students who wish to be eligible to sit the MPaedDent Royal College examination, are advised to apply for the three year Professional Doctorate programme which combines all the taught elements of the MSc with an in depth research project and clinical experience in the third year.
